F3 FOSSIL FREE FUEL
F3 is a knowledge centre for the development of renewable fuels for transport in Sweden. F3 stands for “fossil free fuels.”The Knowledge Centre supports and conducts research projects in the field of renewable fuels. An important task is also to provide decision makers with the best possible basis on which to drive forward continued development within the field.
Chalmers Industrial Technology has prime responsibility for F3 and the other participating players are the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Lund University, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Umeå University. Umeå University also collaborates closely within this area with Luleå University and the Energy Technology Centre in Piteå consequently their skills will also be utilised within F3.
Other participants are the three research institutes IVL – the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, SP – the Technical Research Institute of Sweden and Innventia together with the industry. The industries that currently support the centre are Preem, Perstorp, Sweden, Gothenburg Energy, E.ON Sweden, Scania, SEKAB E-technology and Volvo Technology. The operations are also funded by the Swedish Energy Authority and the Västra Götaland region.
