Project ReTAPP

The ReTAPP (Re-Think All Plastic Packaging) project aims to demonstrate production of wood based fructose. The pentose sugar will be further converted into the polymer Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF). The objective is to generate fructose from wood in a commercial process as a replacement for food/starch or fossil made fructose and prepare the whole value chain for market introduction. The CelluAPP® platform is the first process step in this value chain, starting with pretreatment and conversion of softwood or hardwood feedstock into glucose. Further information about the consortium and the ReTAPP project can be found at the homepage.

The ReTAPP project has received funding from the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under grant agreement no 691414.
