A European leader in ethanol

The SEKAB Group is one of Europe’s leading ethanol producers. We produce and distribute bioethanol fuel and green chemical products, at the same time as we develop the next generation of cellulose-based ethanol processing. Our mission is to prepare the groundwork for and actively promote future sustainable transport with the help of a long-term sustainable fuel. We are currently conducting a long-term industrial initiative in cellulose-based ethanol. Our goal is to develop an industrial structure that will enable the supply of knowledge and equipment for the production of cellulose-based ethanol.

SEKAB was founded in 1985 and has its head office in Örnsköldsvik. SEKAB is owned by a regional consortium consisting of Övik Energi, Umeå Energi, Skellefteå Kraft, Länsförsäkringar i Västerbotten, OK Ekonomisk förening and EcoDevelopment.

Organisation

SEKAB BioFuels & Chemicals produces, imports, develops, sells and distributes bioethanol fuel and chemical products.

SEKAB E-Technology is currently developing the cellulose-based ethanol technology. The vision is to create an international centre for expertise for the development of the cellulose-based bioethanol combines. The goal is to develop and verify process technology and integrational solutions related to the large-scale production of ethanol derived from various cellulose raw materials, initially from forestry products.
