Today is our new CEO, Mikael Fränckel’s, first working day with us at Sekab. He takes on an assignment with a well filled agenda, a clear mission to develop the company in response to increasing demand. Here are Mikael’s answers to three quick questions:

How do you feel?

– It’s a lot to take in and a big company to get acquainted with. At the same time, of course, I’m very excited. Sekab means a lot to Örnsköldsvik and to the whole region. The green profile means that the potential to grow the company is great. A strong Sekab can develop and contribute to the necessary climate adaption and to the region’s growth.

Sekab should grow, you say – what do you see as the most important areas?

– The market demands more and developing our offer for more green products is an important issue. This, combined with the knowledge and drive in innovative technical solutions that are now being scaled up both in the plans for our own facility and through global collaborations, makes our position strong. The fact that we have both of these parts, production and innovation, is a competitive edge and we can utilize that even more.

What’s at the top of your agenda?

– What made me want to join Sekab is that there is so much on the agenda. The production and marketing for the products we sell will be a big issue. Then we currently have a few weeks left until we are to submit an application to the European Innovation Fund, which sees the potential in our plans for a production facility to valorize more of the forest. It is a great recognition for our technical know-how to have been selected as one of the finalists and to make sur that application does the technology justice is of course very important to Sekab.

We welcome Mikael to Sekab
