Sekab’s 2024 sustainability report highlights significant progress in the transition to a fossil-free chemical industry – across production, customer relations, and organizational development.
Thanks to our supplier Övik Energi’s transition to 100% fossil-free fuels, Sekab achieved net zero in scope 1 and 2 – six years ahead of plan. During the year, we also launched carbon footprint calculations in accordance with ISO 14067, with results showing that our chemicals are carbon-negative.
Our dialogue with the market has deepened. Sekab continues to advocate for a new pricing model where fossil-free chemicals are valued based on actual production conditions – a shift that is now gaining wider acceptance.
At the same time, we have strengthened our organization to support continued growth. A more focused sales and marketing team has been formed, and collaboration has been enhanced with key business support functions such as procurement, logistics, and planning. To further integrate sustainability into our core business, a new strategy and sustainability unit has been established, directly connected to company leadership.
Sekab continues to demonstrate that pursuing sustainability in the chemical industry can be both competitive and essential to business success – today and in the future.
