Sekab was founded in 1985 and has its headquarter and production facility in High Coast Innovation Park just outside Örnsköldsvik. Sekab is owned to seventy percent by Norrlands Etanolkraft AB consisting of Övik Energi, Umeå Energi, Skellefteå Kraft and thirty percent by EcoIndustries Development in Europe AB.
