PRODUCTS BY SEKAB
Sekab can help you meet your sustainability targets by offering bio-based chemicals for your processes. Our chemicals are identical and have the same quality as the fossil-based alternatives but are produced from bio-based raw materials in a process run on green bioenergy and can significantly reduce your environmental footprint.
Acetaldehyde from Sekab is produced industrially by the catalytic oxidation of ethanol. The production process takes place with renewable bioenergy in a closed-loop system and with as little toxicological effect as possible.
Acetaldehyde has short shelf life, which puts demands on warehouse logistics. Sekab can ensure and satisfy all of these requirements and conditions.
We are proud to be able to offer our finest bio-based Acetaldehyde which, when it replaces fossil alternatives, has a reduced climate impact of up to 50 per cent. If you choose our Acetaldehyde you get a fully certified product with a 100% bio-based raw material.
Sekab’s acetaldehyde is sustainability certified according to the certification body ISCC – International Sustainability & Carbon Certification. This guarantees that the chemical is produced from renewable bioethanol, using renewable energy in a circular process with advanced bio purification.
CoA. Certificate of Analysis certifies that a Batch or Lot of Product meets all established and mutually agreed upon Specifications as referenced, signed and dated by a duly authorized representative of the Quality Control or Quality Assurance Department.
SDS. The safety data sheet includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical.
Sustainability certificate. Our products are certified by ISCC+ which is a globally applicable sustainability certification system.
CO2 value. GHG value chain protocol to show greenhouse gas emission.
Kosher. This certification verifies that the production complies with the standards of kashrut (Jewish dietary law) as stipulated in the Shulchan Arukh, the benchmark of religious Jewish law.
Halal. A Halal certified product means that the product is permissible or acceptable in accordance with Islamic law.
Acetaldehyde has a wide range of applications and is a raw material in the manufacture of many everyday products, such as paint binders, plasticisers and superabsorbents in baby diapers.
Acetaldehyde is also used in the manufacture of various types of building materials, fire protection paints, synthetic lubricants and explosives. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used, among other things, in the manufacture of vitamins, sleeping aids and sedatives. Acetaldehyde is also often used as a base when producing acetic acid, which is also a basic chemical with many uses.
In the food industry, Acetaldehyde is used in the manufacture of preservatives and flavourings and occurs naturally in fruit and fruit juices. Acetaldehyde arises naturally during fermentation and is found in low levels in foodstuffs such as milk products, soy products, pickled vegetables and non-alcoholic beverages.
