Sekab was founded in 1985 and comprises two operating companies, Sekab Biofuels & Chemicals AB and Sekab E-Technology AB.
The companies are headquartered and production facility in Örnsköldsvik’s Biorefinery. Sekab is owned to seventy percent by Norrlands Etanolkraft AB consisting of Övik Energi, Umeå Energi, Skellefteå Kraft and thirty percent by EcoIndustries Development in Europé AB.
