Thermol

Thermol is a liquid that transports cold air in cooling systems and heat in heating pumps that takes advantage of geothermal energy, surface geothermal energy or tidal energy. There are plants where the liquid can come into close contact with soil and water sources and therefore it is important that it is environmentally friendly.
Sekab’s Thermol is made from biological ethanol, which in turn is made from residual products from the Swedish forest industry, we call it – forest ethanol. Forest ethanol does not require its own cultivation area, so emissions of fossil carbon dioxide are also minimised.
Concentrated Thermol is a flammable liquid that should not be exposed to heat, sparks, open flames or hot surfaces. Even at room temperature the vapours can form an explosive mixture in contact with the air. It is also important to prevent sparks arising from static electricity and therefore explosion-proof electrical equipment should be used when handling Thermol.
When handling concentrated Thermol it is important that the ventilation is satisfactory and that direct contact with skin, eyes and clothing is avoided.
Concentrated Thermol should be stored as flammable liquid class one, cool and separate from ignition sources. In well-sealed containers and in a ventilated space.
Thermol is sold concentrated in bulk volume and can be delivered directly to you by tanker, or collected here at Sekab, if you wish to arrange your own transport.
Concentrated Thermol consists of approximately 85 per cent bioethanol, which in turn can be diluted to the desired level of concentration. The most common mixing method is that the buyer himself dilutes the Thermol to a concentration of about 30 per cent on site. The level of dilution chosen is dependent on the effect you want to achieve and on the prevailing conditions on site.
